Our journeys to Nepal range from an in-depth exploration of the many sites in and around Kathmandu such as the famed Boudhanath Stupa, one of the most significant sites of Buddhist worship in the world, to the traditional Newari town of Parpheng where one of Guru Rinpoche’s caves offers breathtaking views of the Bagmati River and Dakshinkali Valley. We visit Shechen Monastery, one of the most thriving Tibetan Buddhist monasteries in the Himalayan world, with its flourishing monastic college, traditional arts and painting school, and, at Pashupatinath we watch the burning ghats in front of a temple bearing witness to many royal cremation ceremonies.
