2011 Authentic Asia Giveaway –
Win a Signed Kenro Izu Print!

The story behind the Kenro Izu print:

During a series of photography trips to Cambodia’s Angkor monuments in 1993, renowned photographer Kenro Izu was forever changed by his encounters with ill, malnourished and disfigured children in desperate need of medical care. Izu founded Friends Without A Border (Friends) in 1996 and dedicated himself to building a pediatric hospital in Siem Reap, Cambodia. The Angkor Hospital for Children opened its doors on February 22, 1999 and has since treated close to 1 million children.

Izu’s “Light over Ancient Angkor” photography series and exhibition provided much of the initial funds used to build the hospital.

Kenro Izu’s story and work is an inspiration to all of us at Authentic Asia and we are proud to call him a friend and are grateful for the opportunity to support the Angkor Hospital for Children and Friends Without a Border.
